Summertime is just around the corner, and that means the return of the Firefly Music Festival. To kick off the dog(fish) days of summer and get folks pumped for the festival, the brewery will release a brand-new Firefly Ale Friday, May 18, featuring ingredients chosen by fans, and also giving away six pairs of tickets to the festivities. The official craft beer of the festival since 2012, the freshly twisted Firefly Ale mashup is brewed with guava puree and coconut flower nectar, and is full of tropical fruit notes with a subtle sweetness. Tart and citrusy, this complex summer sipper is perfect for those days and nights in the Woodlands. A pair of tickets to Firefly Friday, Saturday or Sunday shows will be given away at 6 p.m. at the Tasting Room at the brewery in Milton, and at 8 p.m. at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats in Rehoboth Beach.

The brewery will also have a special 750ml bottle release of America the Brettiful, a barrel-aged American wild ale, at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 19. Clocking in at 8 percent ABV and 6 IBUs, this fruit-forward sour beer was brewed with Pils malt, wheat, oats and spelt, and fermented with a proprietary Doggy Yeast. Raspberries were added and then the beer was aged in red wine barrels with Brettanomyces bruxellensis and three strains of lactobacillus for nine months. It was finished off with fresh blueberries and refermented with a Belgian saison yeast.

The result? A mild brett funk with bright berry notes and a soft sourness – it’s truly red, wild and blue. Priced at $20 each, only 700 bottles will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis limited to five bottles per person. America the Brettiful will also be on tap in the Tasting Room while supplies last.
